HIV is one of the biggest social, economic and health challenges in the
world. It is a global emergency claiming over 8,000 lives every day. In
fact 5 people die of AIDS every minute.Below are a few pictures which I found particularly impactful when I googled images on AIDS/HIV. Just click on each to enlarge:

This is difficult to see. . .thanks for posting
Great post. We do a lot of work with HIV/AIDS around the world and yet it feels like it has no impact due to how many people suffer. I wonder why we were so blind for so long? Its not to late to make a difference in peoples lives...even if it means that you simply hold their hand while they die so that they are not alone.
thanks. what got you thinking?
Wow - very thought provoking. And 5 people every minute is a scary thought.
It is so sad. And especially since much of it could be prevented with education. As a people we need to make sure that the education and protection needed gets to those who don't have it. Truth is if the epidemic was that bad in the western world we would be stopping it. Most of the damage is being done in poor countries. Sometimes the west can be very selfish.
