  • I didn't get the job--either of them--that I applied for. Apparently
    the other applicants have more work experience. I was told on the phone
    thirty minutes before leaving for the staff Christmas
    party....news which SURELY put me right in that cheery holiday spirit.
    The knock on my pride from everyone knowing I applied yet didn't get
    it, combined with the expectation to be fun and happy and party-esque,
    was almost intolerable. The only consolation was the key lime pie I
    made and brought for the party.

    Then I got a "Happy Holidays" card from the bosses, telling me to have
    a great Christmas, even though they scheduled me to work for part of
    Christmas Eve day, Christmas Day itself, Boxing Day, New Years Eve, and
    New Years Day. This holiday season is already gearing up to be a real
    cheerfest.

    I'm just pissy, and I'll probably feel better in the morning.
