  • I want to compose the ultimate road trip mix. I want suggestions. You may give multiple suggestions, but ONLY songs worthy to be on THE ultimate road trip mix!

My contribution is: “Africa” by Toto.

  • “running down a dream” by Tom Petty

  • well, lets just say somethings about to hit the fan. -.-;

as for your ultimate road trip mix… i dont know if youre big into these guys, but definitely id be putting on ‘i’m not okay’ by my chemical romance. but if not, or in addition, id put on ‘hope for us’ by jealous sound.

wheres this road trip heading? and can i join you hund?

  • “1979″ by The Smashing Pumpkins

  • “I’ve lost the way” from Kings of Convenience, on the “versus” album,
“God Bless Mom” from the Frames, on “the roads outgrown”

  • africa by toto… classic

  • well….. i am a man who values a good mix, and in the spirit of Canadian content I would need to add either Kim Mitchell’s Patio Lanterns or Tom Cocharane’s Life is a Highway. Cmo’n someone had to add it….

    seth

  • “shiver” by coldplay in their “parachutes” album

  • blur Song #2

  • “Africa” by Toto should be on anything.

“E-Bow the Letter” by R.E.M.?  Unorthodox, I realize, but I have an odd weakness for that song.

  • my suggestion is “Road Trippin’” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and not only because of the title.  i love the guitar in it.  this was actually my theme song this past summer as i road-tripped to see my friends on my weekends off.  yeah, baybee.

  • to add some southern US flava (even though it’s about walking!), i would add “walking in memphis” by marc cohn.

  • How bout Canadian Tom Cochrane’s “Life Is A Highway”

I’ve got many more, but will leave it at that for now…

  • how about some of our favorites from Chicago…? :) and you MUST include mws’s friends are friends forever ok? lol

  • “champagne supernova” oasis… “last dance with mary jane” tom petty… “the joker” steve miller band… more time will produce more awesome songthoughts.

  • ooo! ooo! “the district” by postal service. and that song that’s mostly instrumental but in some parts it goes “take a little trip, take a little trip, take a little trip with me..eee…” i can never remember the name of that song. but it’s a good one.

  • southland in the springtime

  • Alanis Morisette always works for me!

If your into lending, Seth and I should borrow your prison break sometime and see if we can’t get addicted!

  • james taylor, india.arie, corinne bailey rae

  • If you’re at all driving through California then you’ve got to have “Why’d You Want To Live Here” by Death Cab on it.  Otherwise my suggestions would be Rebellion (Lies) by Arcade Fire and “Shine A Light” by Wolf Parade, great driving beats on those songs.  Or “Float On” by Modest Mouse has a road trippy feel and is a great singalong.  And for old school beats, you can’t beat Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams, where everyone in the car can sing/scream along.

  • Excellent guys. Keep em coming! I’m really going to make a mix with all your suggestions.

I’m going to add “Alberta Bound” by Paul Brandt. Every road trip needs some country

  • Hey drew, I was wondering if you could help me out a little. I am already on the search for a job next summer and I am looking to migrate to canada with all the geese. I am looking into working on a fishing boat or planting trees for a lumber company. got any leads?

  • A couple of Jimmy Eat world might be fun on a road trip too.

  • 99 Red Balloons (or Luftballoons) by Nena.  Stopped over from Tom’s just to say hello.  Nice to meet you!

  • I want a copy of this mix that you make…………my contribution….well you’ve got your flavor of canadian songs…..might I suggest a mini section for the rememberence of your better GA days……….perhaps Why Georgia……….maybe an R.E.M. song, and to switch it up a bit for those hood rats and ghettafied fizzied nizzy wizzies…….So Fresh And So Clean.

  • umm theres always …gangsters paridice-coolio

or ummmcould always put some good olldd cramberries to keep you awake lol literally i guess..

  • Leather bound huh? Can’t promise anything but I’ll get to work on Richard I :)

Road mix, my suggestion would be Sloop John B by The Beach Boys

  • “in your eyes” by peter gabriel…

  • Jack Johnson….*grin*

  • some franz ferdinand….. cuzth i wasth in my car the other day listening and thought of this blog….”gotta go tell drew to add the franz”

  • To “PotatoeChild” the song I think you are thinking of is “Low Rider” by War, personally I would recommend the Korn version for the road trip mix.

As for my contribution to the compilation: “Go With The Flow” by Queens of the Stone Age.

  • how about a little refreshments. as in the music group. as well as in the snack form. i think this cd needs to be made. and distributed. for a small fee, of course.

  • “Holiday In Spain” by ‘Counting Crows’ and “Elektronik Supersonik” by ‘Zlad’!

  • “Holiday In Spain” by  ’Counting Crows” and “Elektronik Supersonik” by ‘Zlad!’!

  • Make that two votes for 99 red balloons. Just bought the German version on I-Tunes (no English version available). Brings back good memories and I think one of the coolest songs eva! Am I going on a little here? Yip, I guess I am. Oh well, the other one is of course Toto, but I am late with that one too.
